We’re not just a tax company. We’re an emotions company. We believe that the work we do is a reflection of our higher purpose in life. And if the work isn’t fulfilling and enjoyable, what’s the point? At our company, our Core Purpose is to “transform negative emotions into something positive for our clients, partners, and each other”. It just so happens that we do that by eliminating the hassle and stress of sales tax. We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic and want to work towards our Core Purpose, too.
As a fractional sales tax department, TaxValet handles everything for clients, from nexus analysis to permit registrations, filings, audit support, and more. Unlike traditional sales tax software that overpromises and underdelivers, we provide a comprehensive, custom-tailored solution that grows with our clients’ businesses. And unlike traditional professional service firms, we offer an all-inclusive solution for a simple, predictable monthly rate with no billable hours.
We’re a fast-growing, fully remote, financially stable, and profitable business with an AWESOME team of 60-ish teammates. We’re building a world-class fractional sales tax department, and new team members will be part of the reason why.
As a certified B-Corporation, TaxValet is committed to using business as a force for good. This means we consider the impact of our decisions on our team, clients, community, and environment. We’re also a “give 1%” organization, dedicating 1% of profit, employee time, and service time to nonprofits.
We are a core-value-driven business. That means we hire, promote, and reward based on alignment with our core values:
If you’re enthusiastic about transforming negative emotions into something positive and want to work towards our Core Purpose, we’d love to hear from you!
Job Title: Senior Content Writer & Creator
Location: 100% Remote in South Africa
Shift: Flexible late shift – Core working hours of 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM SAST (remaining hours can be completed before or after that)
Are you a skilled content creator who loves to connect the dots, ask sharp questions, and bring clarity through words? We’re looking for a strong writer and organized content producer to help us build engaging, helpful content that cuts through the noise. You’ll help execute blog posts, emails, social media, landing pages, and other content that showcases TaxValet’s unique approach to sales tax (yep, even taxes can feel human).
This is not an entry-level role. You’ll need to hit the ground running with strong writing skills, the ability to manage multiple projects at once, and the curiosity to uncover great stories from within the team. You’ll own and manage the blog and social calendar, repurpose content into bite-sized formats, and work closely with subject-matter experts to translate complexity into clarity. You’ll have the support of a marketing manager and coordinator to guide strategy and execution, and the opportunity to grow into a strategic, lead-generating content expert over time.
This role is best suited to a seasoned content professional—someone who has spent years creating content that not only sounds good, but performs. You’ve worked in content-rich environments where you’ve written for different channels, collaborated with internal teams, and delivered assets that align with broader marketing efforts. You’re not new to this—you know how to ask smart questions, manage content production, and write with clarity, tone, and intent.

Please note that the final step before being hired is for you to arrange reference calls with three of your former managers.

Success in this role will be measured—but not in a one-size-fits-all way. From day one, you’ll receive a 30/60/90-day onboarding plan with clear expectations to help you ramp up quickly. After that, you’ll partner with the Digital Marketing Manager to define the performance metrics that matter most to your role and impact. You’ll take an active role in shaping and owning your KPIs, and you’ll track progress over time to ensure alignment and growth.
While specific goals will evolve as you do, success in this role generally looks like:

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
We’re actively taking steps to make sure our culture is inclusive and that our processes and practices promote equity for all, including people of color, people from working-class backgrounds, women, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. We welcome and encourage applications from people with these identities or members of other historically marginalized groups.
