Our mission

Climate change is causing deep uncertainty at all levels of society, with climate volatility reducing the security of all land-based assets and posing a multi-level security threat for the functioning of enterprises, societies, and governments.

Mitiga is a spinoff of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, which hosts MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe.

Mitiga’s mission is firmly rooted in employing cutting-edge science and technology to mitigate the multifaceted risks posed by climate-driven perils. Our approach spans a spectrum of temporal scales, from real-time and annual forecasts to projections spanning the next century. This comprehensive perspective on risk, coupled with our capacity to transfer risks to capital markets via catastrophe bonds, positions us to significantly contribute to enhanced climate mitigation, resilience, and equity.

And we need you.

What you will do

Delivering solutions in a cloud environment: you’ll be developing and integrating systems, applications, and application components to support product development as part of our platform. You’ll take requirements and specifications and turn them into the building blocks for seamless and amazing products. Collaboration is key, so you’ll be coding in cooperation with other talented team members, performing bug verification and testing. When it’s time for plans and releases, you’ll ensure proper documentation is updated, earning well-deserved praise from others for your accomplishments.

Bring automations and integrations to life: we love efficiency, so you’ll encourage and build automated processes wherever possible. You’ll be on the lookout for opportunities to improve efficiencies, allowing the team to focus more on strategic development and drive business value.

Foster an infrastructure-as-code mindset: you’ll oversee application and infrastructure planning, testing, and development. We believe in shared accountability, so you’ll spread the responsibility for application development, testing, and release across the entire tech team. This guarantees service scalability and reliability, which is crucial for our success.

You’re the custodian of Maintaining CI/CD pipelines: you’ll contribute to the selection and deployment of appropriate CI/CD tools, always striving for continuous improvement. Building a solid continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline) will be your focus. You’ll constantly seek ways to improve the pipeline, from people to processes. And let’s not forget, you’ll also implement GitOps throughout our company.

Who are you gonna call? You’ll be part of a fantastic team responsible for deploying platform solutions. We’ll work together to expose blind spots in applications and infrastructure and figure out how to monitor those services effectively. And when incidents arise in development, you’ll be there to respond promptly. You’ll also proactively deepen the reliability of the services we deploy, ensuring our users have the best experience possible.

Diversity

A recent study shows that one in every 10 tech workers in Spain are women. Only 8% of all contracts in 2019 with people with disabilities were in technology and science. Meanwhile, 30% of LGTBIQ people in Spain do not come out in the workplace for fear of discrimination.

This is neither the world we want to live in nor the workplace we’re building.

Mitiga is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.

In fact, we strongly encourage applicants from minority groups to apply.
